ASTROLOGICAL HOUSES: GENERAL INFORMATION
The place of birth or establishment of the theme is decisive, the location of the Houses evolving during the day with the axial rotation of the Earth , I repeat once again, it is crucial to have good coordinates to establish a theme reliable.
A point on Domification :
The Houses in astrology are determined either according to a temporal method, this is the case of the Placidus domification for example, or according to a spatial method in the case of the domification in equal Houses, as are the signs of the zodiac, dividing the circle of the ecliptic into 30° increments.
The analyzes and interpretations of themes made on passion-astrologue.com most often retain the Placidus domification or the Equal Houses, unless otherwise specified.
The points beginning each House are called the “House Cusps” . Their location indicates the Sign governing the house. The house spreads out counter-clockwise.
A house can have 2 masters, if for example the house is spread over several Signs , the mastery will be in proportion to the occupation of each one, we speak of secondary master. The analysis of this second master can give good indications (change of Astrological Elements , new planetary Masteries , change of operating mode, cardinal, fixed, etc…).
An “empty” House in a chart - that is to say without Planets - does not at all mean that it is useless or that the domain concerned is “absent” from the life in question… by deduction the astrologers manage to interpret this “void” in different ways, thanks to the Signs , to the mid-points or to the planetary drawing and its focal point for example.
Furthermore, of course, an “empty house” lives by actualizing itself through transits .
See the Void in astrology .
For the Intercepted Signs they correspond to the signs which have no House cusp in their sector, and the houses linked to the signs which have 2 of them, which often happens in the temporal domifications of the Placidus type . See Interceptions .
House I: the ego, its way of feeling everyday life and exteriorizing itself, its innate character
House VII: relationships with alter egos, associations and contracts (and declared enemies)
House II: the material results of personal activity, the management of one's individual value, the means of existence. The choices depend on the native.
House VIII: losses, transformations (death and rebirth) and money from others (inheritances in particular). The choices depend on the intervention of others.
House III: concrete thought, the close entourage
House IX: abstract thought, faith, extension of the field of consciousness, distance, foreign countries
House IV: the basics of life, roots, parents, home, private life, starting conditions in existence
House X: the pinnacle of life, social character, public life, professional achievement
House V: personal joys (individual creativity/development, creations and recreations, children, art, play)
House XI: public joys (social creativity, friends, collective goals and supports, projects and hopes)
House VI: charges and obligations of public order (health, acute illnesses, easements and daily obligations, work as an obligation)
House XII (certainly the most complex): trials and enemies of a private or hidden nature, the dispossession of the ego and the problem of the relationship between the Self and the Great Whole (there may be a question of isolation at hospital, in prison, or... in a monastery, in other words of interior life), chronic illnesses.
Another Approach :
